Mauve or purple flowers on the heather and a stunted scots pine (pine pinus pinaceae - with needles!) under a blue sunny summer sky. This shot of the moorland was taken from a very low angle with a wide lens for impact and good depth of field.
The landscape is a poor environment to graze horses, yet the New Forest Pony widely seen here is well known for its constitution of iron, and ignoring people who travel through their land!.
